Photo shoot fun while filming a Southwest commercial
It's not everyday that you get to go on the Tarmac at LAX but you can when you filming a commercial. I loved dining the orange jackets and hearing the roar of the planes as they take off. The fun thing is that filming footage of planes is rather like going on Safari, you have no control as to how they are going to behave. You just have to position yourself in the best possible place and hope you get the shot your after. A great day with great memories!

Travel: Since Cabo is off...
Since Cabo got hit by a hurricane it looks like we'll have to divert our plans and head back up to wine country. Not too much of a hardship but will definitely miss the margaritas and pool side hanging. Damn Hurricanes.

Southwest rocks like the cool kids
One of the many cool things Southwest does unlike any other airline is support up and coming indie bands who they invite to play on the planes and parks. I particularly like this song by Echosmith "I wish I could be like the cool kids". Didn't we all wish that while growing up.

Travel: Bed, Bath and Beyond...
Steve's back in the UK visiting the little ones in between work. Very jealous of him and of course miss him, while I have to sweat it out in this LA heat. Steve - give lots of cuddles to the boys from me. These photos were taken in Bath last Christmas.

Not the healthiest of meals, but certainly a fun one is Chinese Dim Sum. We like to go all out of the way to San Gabriel as it's worth the trip. Probably the best we've been to so far is Shanghai No.1 restaurant for the real and slightly less chaotic deal. http://www.yelp.com/biz/shanghai-no-1-seafood-village-san-gabriel-2

Fitness: Prep for the big Hike
In preparation for the Charity hike, in memory of my sister in law, I'm ramping up the fitness regime. A combination of swimming, running and of course yoga. Here's how the progress is looking to date...

Travel: Santa Barbara Wine Country
Wine Country Santa Barbara is where Steve and I got married. There's nothing better than going back to visit and picking up cases of wine from the two wine clubs we've joined Epiphany and Evan's Ranch. For night time entertainment after dinner in Los Olivos there's always Mavericks Saloon where we had our wedding after party. It's always rocking there Cowboy hats and all.

Mindfulness on the go
If Time magazine says it it must be real. Even the Googlers up in Paolo Alto are at it - taking time in the day to be truly mindful. I'm a big proponent of anything that involves meditation as it's like hitting the reset button in our otherwise busy and stressful lives. One of the best tools I've found that you can check out on a free trial is the app from www.headspace.com. They put forward that just 10minutes of mindful meditation a day can really help you out. Peace out Brothers and Sisters. A x

Travel: Southwest's LAX Revamp...
We must be patient while Southwest revamp their LAX terminal 1 spot for the better. If Dallas Lovefield is anything to go by we can expect good things for those who wait. The revamp should bring an overall more sophisticated experience with better shops and food. What more could a traveller on a budget want.
Fashion: Feeling dotty...
So this look was inspired by the wardrobe on one of out Southwest Airlines film shoots. Apart from the trousers which are Rag and Bone, the shoes (Nine West) and the blouse (J Crew) were all bought at Camarillo premium outlet on the way home from Santa Barbara www.premiumoutlets.com. They were a complete steal at about 80% off. Love a good bargain me!

Food: Now that we're entering Fall...
These photos are from a while back, but now that Summer is officially over we can look forward to dusting down our jumpers and winter warmer recipes. This beautiful dish was cooked by our friend Bodman, who has a penchant for French style cooking. It's a cassoulet and while it takes a while to bake it's so worth the wait - a pot full of meat stewed goodness that you can recreate with the following recipe and guide www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Cassoulet Enjoy my friends - enjoy!
