Photo shoot fun while filming a Southwest commercial

It's not everyday that you get to go on the Tarmac at LAX but you can when you filming a commercial. I loved dining the orange jackets and hearing the roar of the planes as they take off. The fun thing is that filming footage of planes is rather like going on Safari, you have no control as to how they are going to behave. You just have to position yourself in the best possible place and hope you get the shot your after. A great day with great memories!

Travel: Since Cabo is off...

Since Cabo got hit by a hurricane it looks like we'll have to divert our plans and head back up to wine  country. Not too much of a hardship but will definitely miss the margaritas and pool side hanging. Damn Hurricanes.

Southwest rocks like the cool kids

One of the many cool things Southwest does unlike any other airline is support up and coming indie bands who they invite to play on the planes and parks. I particularly like this song by Echosmith "I wish I could be like the cool kids". Didn't we all wish that while growing up.

Travel: Bed, Bath and Beyond...

Steve's back in the UK visiting the little ones in between work. Very jealous of him and of course miss him, while I have to sweat it out in this LA heat. Steve - give lots of cuddles to the boys from me. These photos were taken in Bath last Christmas.

Not the healthiest of meals, but certainly a fun one is Chinese Dim Sum. We like to go all out of the way to San Gabriel as it's worth the trip. Probably the best we've been to so far is Shanghai No.1 restaurant for the real and slightly less chaotic deal. http://www.yelp.com/biz/shanghai-no-1-seafood-village-san-gabriel-2

Southwest's new Heart and new look

Southwest's new Heart and new look

Travel: Santa Barbara Wine Country

Wine Country Santa Barbara is where Steve and I got married. There's nothing better than going back to visit and picking up cases of wine from the two wine clubs we've joined Epiphany and Evan's Ranch. For night time entertainment after dinner in Los Olivos there's always Mavericks Saloon where we had our wedding after party. It's always rocking there Cowboy hats and all.

Mindfulness on the go

If Time magazine says it it must be real. Even the Googlers up in Paolo Alto are at it - taking time in the day to be truly mindful. I'm a big proponent of anything that involves meditation as it's like hitting the reset button in our otherwise busy and stressful lives. One of the best tools I've found that you can check out on a free trial is the app from www.headspace.com. They put forward that just 10minutes of mindful meditation a day can really help you out. Peace out Brothers and Sisters. A x

Travel: Southwest's LAX Revamp...

We must be patient while Southwest revamp their LAX terminal 1 spot for the better. If Dallas Lovefield is anything to go by we can expect good things for those who wait. The revamp should bring an overall more sophisticated experience with better shops and food. What more could a traveller on a budget want.

Fashion: Feeling dotty...

So this look was inspired by the wardrobe on one of out Southwest Airlines film shoots. Apart from the trousers which are Rag and Bone, the shoes (Nine West) and the blouse (J Crew) were all bought at Camarillo premium outlet on the way home from Santa Barbara www.premiumoutlets.com. They were a complete steal at about 80% off. Love a good bargain me!

Food: Now that we're entering Fall...

These photos are from a while back, but now that Summer is officially over we can look forward to dusting down our jumpers and winter warmer recipes. This beautiful dish was cooked by our friend Bodman, who has a penchant for French style cooking. It's a cassoulet and while it takes a while to bake it's so worth the wait - a pot full of meat stewed goodness that you can recreate with the following recipe and guide www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Cassoulet Enjoy my friends - enjoy!

Fashion: Audrey inspired...

My two fashion icons are Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn. Nothing beats a simple striped top with plain navy of black trousers. Only thing I wish is that I still had this hair. Went for the chop and chopped off far too much. Oh well, there are much worse things to cry over in life!

Fitness: With Tara Stiles: Yoga Weight Loss & Balance Workout

Other than Ekhart Yoga and yours truly, Tara Stiles is still one of my favorite youtube yoga teachers. Her no fuss manner without the Sanskrit lingo just makes it accessible to everyone. Love you Tara!

Travel: Why I love working for Southwest

The reason I love working for Southwest is that they go out of their way to make people's dreams come true who might not have the opportunity to travel and make them happen. This video is another example of the great work they are doing. Thank you Southwest for letting me be part of your team.

Fitness: Yoga Practice ~ 45 minutes

Travel: Staycation

Living in LA, sometimes you don't have to go anywhere to feel like you've had a vacation. My great girlfriend Pat Couling was back in town and we decided that a beach hang in Santa Monica was the way to go followed by wine tasting at www.rosenthalestatewines.com in Malibu. A beautiful way to end the day - a glass of rose in hand.

Travel: Big Bear Hugs

This is a photo from a trip to one of my favourite places to get away from LA - Big Bear

Great hikes and fun skiing or snowboarding

We normally rent out a house and get our party on with great home cooked food or one of the restaurants in the cute downtown

Fitness: Anywhere and Anyhow

Ballet can be done anywhere even at Universal Studios' Oscars hall of fame

Philosophy: Family first...

Nothing is more important to me than my family. Which is why I was so happy to have my family visit me recently. Our family has been through so much ups and downs in this last year that that's when you feel the really strength of a family pulling together. Steve and I are lucky in LA though as while all our immediate family in the UK we've made some great friends who feel like family here. In fact next weekend we're going camping with a few of them to Mt. Pinos which will no doubt be my next post. So here's to friends and family - may yours be happy and well too.

This is my mum, my neice Sophie, my brother Lee and Steve.
Dad doesn't like his photo taken - hence his absence

Philosophy: All Heart...

Check out the new cover of Southwest's monthly magazine - All Heart. Feauturing Mindy Kaling, Superman and Aristotle's lessons in life...

1. Talk alot (but listen more)
2. Go the extra mile
3. Be creative with a reason
4. Work hard for what you want
5. Break dance to your own beat
6. Be reliable
7. Take the time to help people

Fashion: Working it...

As I step back on the work wagon, I've been equipping myself with some nice work attire. The spending spree happened in a fancy mall in Bangkok - The dress is from Nine West (who knew they did dresses? I thought they just did shoes) and the shoes are a trusted favourite from Shanghai based designer Chloe Chen. The outfit made me feel all fit to get stuck back into Southwest biz niz. If you thinking about flying the deals are good right now book at www.southwest.com

Don't you just love it when you fly into a new city at night time. All the twinkling lights beckoning to you to come play. I find it so romantic - the promise of adventure, the promise of new experiences and different people. Here I was flying into LAX from Dallas on www.southwest.com the friendly, reliable airline where everybody is treated equally and like first class royalty.

Yoga: Flexibility and Range of Motion

Travel: Sleepful in Seatle

Last November Steve and I treated ourselves to a quick trip to Seatle - Washington State
It was such a welcome change from the always Sunny LA: Wet and grungy with a certain finesse
I highly recommed a visit to all - particularly the music museum which you can get to on the futuristic sky train! We stayed at the very central Hotel MAX www.hotelmaxseattle.com
Why not use the fast reliable and friendly low cost travel from www.southwest.com to get there!

Travel: To all include or not to all include - that is the question

Before going on to Mauritius for a friends wedding a few years back - I'd never been on an all inclusive holiday

I've totally changed my mind - not having to carry your wallet around and sports activities until all free until your biceps pop out - are high up there as to why I recommend you try it - who knows you might like it as much as we did
